ACO In Concert: Richard Tognetti performs Beethoven's Violin Concerto
ACO In Concert: Richard Tognetti's Beethoven • 51m
Richard Tognetti directs the Australian Chamber Orchestra in Beethoven's Violin Concerto.
Filmed live at Sydney Opera House in 2018, this explosive performance saw Richard directing Beethoven’s iconic concerto from the violin as soloist and was described by Limelight as “the stuff of dreams”.
Richard spoke to the Sydney Morning Herald a few days before stepping onto stages around Australia with the concerto, and at the time said: “Once you start performing, it’s gut and visceral. Once you walk onto that stage, it’s not cerebral, it’s got to be driven by yourself.”
His words turned out to be prophetic: they perfectly describe the raw emotion and energy of the incredible performance that has been captured here on film. We’re thrilled to give you the chance to experience it again, or for the first time, through this broadcast.
